Best places to visit in Manali, India

Manali is a resort town surrounded by Himalayan mountains in Himachal Pradesh state of India. It is well-known as adventure land and honeymoon destination. Based on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for trekking in the Parvati Valley and skiing in Solang Valley. It is also best point for various adventurous activities like, paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains.

Malana is a small Himalayan village located in the Parvati Valley at around 80 km from Manali. There are two famous tourist attractions Jamdagni and Renuka Devi temples in the Malana village is attracting many tourists with their beautiful wood and stonework. Malana is also very adventurous place for trekking and amazing locations of Malana will make your journey unforgettable.

Hidimba Devi Temple
This temple is situated on a hillock and surrounded by thick forests, the Hidimba Devi Temple is dedicated to Hidimba, an important character in epic Mahabharata. This temple is a complexly designed wooden temple which has a distinctive architectural style and it is built around a cave which is called as the meditation place of Hidimba.

Kheerganga is famous for trekking and hot water springs, it is located 95 km from Manali in the Parvati Valley. To reach at this destination one has to trek for about 11 km. Barshaini is the beginning point of the trek through a scenic region. The adventurous trek with amazing locations and natural hot water springs force many trekkers for revisit.

Vashisht Kund
Vashisht village is situated at the distance of 5 km from Manali across the Beas river. It is famous place for its hot water springs. There are also special bath houses for those peoples  who wish to take a dip. Vashisht village is also famous for its stone made temple which is dedicated to the greatest Hindu saint   Vashisht.

Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa (Manali Gompa)
This place is located close to the old Manali road, It is an best place to absorb some spiritual vibes. Here you can explore the Tibetan culture, architecture and history. Visitors can also buy Tibetan handicrafts items from the shops located in the near by premises. The time to visit this place is between 6 am to 6 pm on all days except Sunday.

Arjun Gufa
Arjun Gufa (cave) is located 5 km away from Manali on the bank of the beautiful Beas river. The place gets its name from the great worrior of Mahabharata Arjun. This Cave is a perfect place to enjoy the stunning views of snow-capped mountains and beautiful forests.

Solang Valley
This is a place of adventurous sports like skiing and paragliding, located about 13 km from Manali, the Solang Valley offers amazing views of snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas. Also known as ‘Snow Point', Solang Valley is a best location in Manali to visit in winter or summer to enjoy various adventure sports activities.

Rohtang Pass
Rohtang Pass is one of the most famous tourist attraction in Manali. Located 51km away from the town of Manali, it situated on the Manali - Keylong Highway. This pass acts as a natural divider between the Kullu valleys and Lahaul mountains, which creating a beautiful combination of Hindu cultures and Buddhist cultures.
