Harihareshwar is a beautiful place in Raigad district of Maharashtra state, located along the Konkan border in Maharashtra, India. It is surrounded by four hills named Harihareshwar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri and Pushpadri. The Savitri river enters the Arabian Sea from the town of Harihareshwar. Harihareshwar is known for its beautiful and clean beaches and is also famous for the temple of lord shiva. The temple of lord shiva is situated near these hills. This small place is nearly 200 kms. from Mumbai. Harihareshwar is also known as Kashi of Southern India. This place offers dark woods, untouched and silent seashore, pristine beaches and lovely temples by the beach side. It also offers a good places to stay and there are many hotels and resorts to your comfort. Resorts in Harihareshwar offer all kinds of facilities to the visitor. For visitors interested in trekking and boating, the facilities can be organized on a prior request. There are a lot of other places near Harihareshwar that can also be visited. Harihareshwar is indeed a great weekend place for the whole family.
        Harihareshwar is one of the famous tourist destination in maharashtra. It is known for its beautiful temple on the seashore. The Harihareshwar temple is something about ten minute walking distance from Harihareswar beach. There some steps that you needs to climb to reach the temple. Hence, Harihareshwar is often referred as Dev-ghar (house of God).
       Harihareshwar is a popular beach with two beaches, one to the north side and the other one to the south of the temple. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation(MTDC) has their own resort on the south beach. Harihareshwar, along with Shrivardhan and Diveagar Beach forms a popular weekend beach destination. It is renowned tourist destination in Konkan for its beautiful temples and idyllic beaches. Moreover, it is said as Devbhumi (The Place of God) or Temple Town. Harihareshwar have two beaches one is straight beach something about 2.4 km long in front of Harihareshwar Temple, and the other is L shape beach about 2 km just in front of MTDC Resort. Harihareshwar is an evergreen place and you can visit it in any season. It is placed in the heart of nature and surrounded with Sahyadri’s hills. You can easily spend your three or four days of holiday. There is no any problem to staying in Harihareshwar as there is MTDC (a Governmental resort) and some private resorts, also available some Bed and Breakfasts that provide stays in homes.         This Beach is a prime tourist attraction located in Harihareshwar town of Maharashtra. Tourists can enjoy speed boat rides and water scooter rides at this beach.          The southernmost point of Raigad District is called Harihareshwar, the place of Gods. The districts of Raigad and Ratnagiri are demarcated by the wide expanse of River Savitri. It is a holy place of pilgrimage and as the Government of Maharashtra has designated Harihareshwar as a tourist place, the place has seen a great influx of tourists. On one side is Savitri River, also known as Bankot Creek. On the other side is the huge expanse of the Arabian ocean and jutting out into the sea is a promontory that is Hariharswhar. The holiness about this place has been described in the sahaydri volume of puranas, Because of its holy status it is also called the Kashi (Benaras) of the South. Harihareshwar is one of the best places in Konkan. It is just 175 Kms. from Pune. It is famous for a temple on the seashore as well as the beautiful beach and for the natural beauties here. Harihareshwar is about 25 Kms for Shri Vardhan. If anyone wants to enjoy travelling by sea, the launches are also available between the two towns. The Lord Shiva's temple is one of the major attractions in harihareshwar. It is known as Kashi of Southern India. The hill on the seashore at Harihareshwar is also known as ''Harihar'' or ''Pushpadri''.
