Jaswand (Hibiscus) flower


Hibiscus flower is known for its beauty as well as its medicinal uses, and gardeners cultivate the plant for its showy flowers. Hibiscus flowers are generally large, with five or more petals, and vary in color. It's simply known as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow. It grows mostly in the tropical area, but some species also grow in cool climates.
        The hibiscus flower is used as an offering to goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha in Hindu worship in india. It has been used in the treatment of cancers and In some Western countries hibiscus flowers often are found as components of herbal tea mixtures. The flower usually has five petals. Hibiscus comes in many colours like white to pink, red, purple and yellow. In many countries around the world Hibiscus flower is used for making a Tea and is served both hot and cold. Hibiscus flowers are available in all part of konkan area in india, also available in australia, africa, Indonesia and some other countries.
        The flower of  hibiscus is the national flower of Haiti and also it used in their national tourism slogan of Haiti. In the indian traditional medicine system (Ayurveda) white and red Hibiscus flower is considered as medicinal properties. They use Hibiscus flower to make Ayurvedic medicine. Hibiscus  flower are traditionally used to polish shoes in Jamaica. In India, the Hibiscus flower is considered an auspicious flower, and it is used in Hindu religious ceremonies to worship the Goddess. In Ayurveda, Hibiscus is known as one of the best secrets to beautiful and healthy hair. it promotes hair growth and stops hair fall.
     One of the most popular uses of Hibiscus is as Hibiscus Tea, it contains Anthocyanins which are the pigments that are responsible for the hibiscus’ red color and the production of antioxidants. It also contains fruit acids, amino acids and vitamins which are beneficial to good health. The hibiscus tea is popular in several countries with various names. some Parts of the flower are used to make a popular drink in Egypt called Karkade. It also used as a flavoring in foods and beverages. The flowers do come in other colors like pink, orange, and yellow but it’s the red flowers that are used medicinally. Hibiscus flower extract has been used in many folk remedies for high blood pressure by decreasing the viscosity of the blood. The fruity fleshy hibiscus flowers can be used in a variety of different ways to add colour, taste and richness. In the food industry hibiscus is used in sauces, jellies, cakes, jams, ice-creams, sorbet and herbal teas. If you want a cool refreshing drink make a tea from the fresh red flowers and cool in the refrigerator, its better to serve with ice on a hot sunny day.
     Hibiscus flower is also known for getting the skin elasticity increased. nowadays, people are getting aged before they are too old. Thus, they wish to get a lovely and wrinkles free skin.
